Man - I am so tired of gearing up for the football season and having my team fizzle. My anxiety level goes way up (it's a good thing I have access to drugs) and I take it personal. I am in a bad mood and very grouchy. And we have to go to church and hear all about the "red team." What can I do to get through this season and not bite Dad's head off. He tells me not to expect anything and then I won't be disappointed. Yeah, whatever. I am just mad. Perhaps I will eat some chocolate and maybe I will feel better.

Mother, I know how you feel. We didn't get it on TV here on South Padre Island but I was able to listen to the game over the internet. I don't know if you listened to KSL or not toward the end of the game but the two announcers (Rubell and Lyons I think) were talking like they were at a funeral. It was very somber and it pretty much summed up the feelings of a lot of 'blue' fans. What's up with stupid mistakes these days?!?! I think it's because we have 22-24 year old Freshmen and 28 year old seniors who are twice as big and twice as emotionally and intellectually mature as thier opponent. Am I on to something? Quick, call the NCAA ethics committee.
All we had to do was throw some more yards, get more first downs, score a couple more touchdowns and kicked some field goals and we would have been right there. Oh well, life goes on I guess. And about the "red team", I absolutely despise them. If they were playing France for a world championship in something, i would root for the French (actually, I probably woudn't watch). If BYU was guaranteed tons of money if Utah won some bowl game, I would absolutely root for the "other team." I mean, c'mon, the money last year didn't seem to do much. Where's my refund check? Oh, did I mention I loathe the university of Utah?
Oh well, I still love BYU and the alarm-clock of a fight song. And Mom, don't forget, all your kids and money go to BYU.
