This isn't a Christmas present contest
We all saw from the pictures that quite obviously I gave Chad the coolest present ever with the BYU Breakdancing Club mesh shirt, but a close runner up would have to be Jenn giving me the Silpat. For anyone who may have missed seeing this gift in the chaos of Aiden's tantrums or who couldn't see across the room because of the smoke from the Christmas train, a Silpat is "a cook's best friend." You can roll out pastries on it and even bake cookies on it, yet it appears as a thin flexible rubberized placemat. Thanks to Mayka's pointers on the recipe and Jenn's great gift, I made tortillas last night and the night before using the Silpat. I love that thing!

I rolled the tortillas on the Silpat and cooked them on my electric griddle. I also used whole wheat flour instead of regular flour. Yum!
I'm glad its living up to its recommendation.
