RS meetings

I know this is blogger specific but I have a question for the female gender of the Tustizone. I am having brain fluffs as to RS meetings, formerly known as Enrichment. I need some ideas as to what to do, any activities or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If the male community feels the need to comment, I would welcome the input.

this month we are focusing on health and wellness... we are have 3 mini lessons tomorrow night.. we have a body builder/fitness trainer in our ward she is doing 1/2 hr of nutrition and maintaining a healthy body... I'm doing mental relaxation...i.e. relieving stress through mindfulness exersizes... and then the Prez who is a dancer is doing a mini lesson on basic stretching and yoga.... next month we are focusing on strengthening relationships with those you love i.e. spouse, siblings, parents, children... we are going to have a speaker speak on that and then we are going to make paper fortune cookie valentines cards to tell those you love that you care. We are trying to not just focus on married people, because there are many who are not.. anyway that's what we are up to
Last month we made white pillow cases for a local homeless shelter.... those are just some ideas

Those sound like good ideas. What are paper fortune cookie valentines?

Hi Grace, This past month our RS Activity was on meal planning, cooking for two, couponing, and freezer meals. Next month they are going to have a guest speaker come and speak on emotional wellness. For March they are planning a RS Birthday party complete with RS Trivia jeopardy, a slideshow of the sisters, and cupcakes. For April they are going to have a VT Conference & Dinner and are having the VT Leader and the VT Supervisors help.

Other ideas and topics our RS is considering for future activites are: Temple; Family History; Learn something new & share it night; Services.

I just remembered we had a wonderful Studying the Scriptures night last year where we were divided up into groups and had to come up with some sort of skit using random props to act out a scripture or scripture story, then there was a sister in our ward who talked about applying the scriptures to our lives. The YW came for that night and really enjoyed it.

There was also an activity in November about Family Traditions that I enjoyed. They asked the sisters to volunteer prior to the evening to share a family tradition. Some spoke that night while others ideas were displayed, and some shared their traditional foods for refreshments.

Jenn, those sound really, dare I say, fun. I am going to try and incorporate some of your ideas into my scheduling for this year. I'm using Mayka's idea for February. We are going to have the 1st counselor do something with Occupational Therapy I.e. Easy exercises/wellness. Then one of our inactive sisters is going to teach us Zumba moves. Hopefully, the sisters enjoy it.

I would come to your February activity! What a great way to get one of the inactive sisters involved.
