So, we hit a deer. We were on our way to "Day out with Thomas" in Rusk, TX, About 3 hours away. 2 hours into the drive we plowed straight into a deer going about 70 mph. We were perfectly fine, but as you can see, our car is not. They towed it away and we had to call some friends from the ward to pick us up. (the closest rental car place was 50 miles away-we were in the middle of nowhere).
A nice couple dropped us off in "town" and we spent the next 3 hours drinking slushies and watching Oliver play at Sonics. Our friends finally got thier and brought us home. They are letting up borrow thier extra car until we find out what's up with ours this next week. Because of the value, we are assuming they will just total it.
At least Oliver will have a birthday to remember.

We are very relieved that all involved are okay. That picture of Oliver - he looks older than he did just this summer. What a cutie!!
The real question is this: Did you save the deer meat so that you can make jerky?
Dude that sucks. I'm with Clint, though---I hope you got some deer meat out of the ordeal.
